As we plan for our summer holidays, Nationwide Building Society are warning holidaymakers to be wary about sharing their personal details – particularly their bank details – as fraudulent scams continue to rise.
Brits are getting caught out by alluring offers online and alarmingly the research found that around two thirds (63%) of Brits have previously entered private information such as their name, address and date of birth to enter a competition. Of these, seven in ten (69%) have done so without any due diligence checks, according to the poll.
The research highlights how the risk/reward radar can often be unbalanced by ‘too good to be true’ offers as it reveals most people are aware that providing such information could put them at risk of fraud, with many regretting doing it later.
We’ve teamed up with Nationwide Building Society to offer one lucky winner the chance to win a brand new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, along with Norton Internet Security, to ensure you’re safe online whilst booking holidays this summer.
